Al had originally decided today would be an easy one, from Douro though another 5 locks, down the Otonabee River, finishing when he arrived at Rice Lake. But along the way, he heard that a front was expected at the end of the day, bringing big winds that would make rowing Rice Lake unpleasant. So Al decided to keep rowing while the rowing was good, reaching Hastings at the far end of Rice Lake as it got dark, for a total distance of 46 miles. He reported feeling surprisingly good when he finally got off the water - we'll see how he feels tomorrow.
The highlight of the day was passing though the Peterborough hydraulic lift lock, at 65 feet the largest in the world.

Lock 18 is at Hastings - at this point Al has passed through 26 locks (there's no lock 29) and rowed 300 kilometers (186 miles) on the Trent-Severn.
